Our veterinary receptionists are integral members of our animal hospital. They provide the first liaison between the client and the veterinarian. Along with their record and clerical duties related to animal patient care and treatment, they provide miscellaneous support to the veterinarians and patient care team.
Val began her employment at Iron Mountain Animal Hospital in July 2001. A lifelong resident of the area, Val has been an animal lover all her life and wanted to be a veterinarian. As this did not happen, ironically she still ended up working at an animal hospital! Her sound advice and kind words over the phone have helped so many of our clients and patients over the years.

Val lives in Iron Mountain with her husband, three dogs, three cats and four mini horses. She has three grown sons, one grown step-son, one grown step-daughter, and three beautiful grandchildren. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family and her animals, take walks, watch movies, listen to music, and crafting.
Jenna is one of the smiling faces that greets you at the front desk at Iron Mountain Animal Hospital. She started working at IMAH in 2003 during high school. After attending college for Medical Office Specialist she resumed her work at IMAH.

Jenna is the proud mother of her daughter, Adisson. She also has two dogs, Axle and Reea. Along with spending time with family and friends she enjoys singing, listening to music, fishing on Lake Superior, camping, and spending time at her family cabin.
“I have been a part of this hospital my entire life with my dad being a Veterinarian at IMAH. I've been very lucky to grow up in such a wonderful environment where taking care of animals is our #1 priority!
Krista joined our team in August of 2006 after receiving a Medical Office Specialist degree from Bay College. She performs a wide range of functions and has become a valued receptionist, becoming our lead receptionist in the fall of 2014.
“Being a receptionist gives me the opportunity to be able to meet and greet our clients and their pets and put a face to the voice we talk to on the phone. I feel that everybody who works here is very loving and compassionate, and is always providing the best care possible for our patients and their owners.”
She resides in Iron Mountain with her husband, Kevin, their two daughters, and an English Golden Retriever named Bentley. She enjoys camping, four wheeling, going to off-road races, and spending time with family and friends.
Anne joined Iron Mountain Animal Hospital in July of 2008. She is a lifelong resident of the area. Prior to joining IMAH she worked at a local small business specializing in micrographics, computer repair and bank equipment sales and supplies. This business career kept her busy for over 30 years, eventually becoming part owner and company president.

When not at work, Anne enjoys biking, flower gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She has a dog named Sadie who is a Gordon Setter mix.
Katie has been working at Iron Mountain Animal Hospital since September 2010. You can find her behind the front desk as a receptionist, but Katie is also one of our veterinary assistants. Katie graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. In 2008 she began working as a veterinary assistant in Escanaba. In 2010 she moved back to Iron Mountain to be closer to her family.

Katie lives in Loretto with her husband and their crazy menagerie of pets! They have two cats, an Australian Shepherd, two gerbils, and a cockatiel. Outside of work Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and family, 4-wheeling, camping, and reading a good book with her cats on her lap and her dog curled up at her feet!
Sharon re-joined Iron Mountain Animal Hospital in 2011 after retiring from teaching. She worked for IMAH for seventeen years prior to her teaching career at Breitung Township Schools. Sharon has a Master’s Degree in Education. She has always had a passion for animals and her equine knowledge has been a positive benefit to our hospital.
“I enjoy working with people. I treat each person the way I would like to be treated and treat every animal as if it were my very own. We have a wonderful staff of compassionate, educated, people who always have the clients and animals best interests in mind when implementing the various treatments or procedures.”
She resides in Vulcan with her husband Dale and they manage Spotted Hawk Acres. She owns five horses, four dogs and three cats. She has two grown children and five beautiful grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, showing her horses, swimming, reading, and spending quality time with her family.
